Modified by Q Branch for the agent's deadly mission against the notorious gold smuggler, it featured concealed weaponry, a bullet-proof rear shield, and an array of gadgets designed to foil pursuers. When threatened inside the car by an adversary, Bond dispatched his unwanted passenger using an ejector seat. The sleek'silver birch' sports car remains synonymous with James Bond. #### COLOURED COIN DESIGN The coin's reverse portrays a coloured image of Sean Connery leaning on the bonnet of the Aston Martin DB5. The historical Hay Street location handled gold refining until moving to a modern facility in April 1990. Ownership of the mint was transferred to the Government of Western Australia in July of 1970.
