This is an original 22" x 28" half sheet display poster for the last genuine Sean Connery James Bond film produced for United Artists under the stewardship of Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman and director Guy Hamilton.
Ian Fleming's spy novel got a someone campy and humorous updating in this classic example of the genre -- terrific John Barry score, Shirley Bassey-sung theme song, gorgeous Jill Saint John as Tiffany Case with Lana Wood (Natalie's sister) as the ill-fated Plenty O'Toole. The film takes place around the globe from African diamond mines to Amsterdam, to the glitzy lights of the Las Vegas strip. An unusual amount of humor is included in this particular effort including two odd but memorable gay hit men, a couple of lesbian tigresses, a mogul played by Jimmy Dean styled after Howard Hughes, and a visit to the just open Circus Circus Casino. Additional, Charles Gray appears as a terrific version of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, two times over and once again in drag and with a pussy cat.
The poster is in very fine, rolled condition (this particular poster format is quite rare and scarce for this title). Note: This is an original piece of movie memorabilia that hung in theatres at the time of the film's release, not a cheap reproduction. The item "DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER MOVIE POSTER Sean Connery as James Bond Las Vegas 1971" is in sale since Tuesday, April 9, 2019.
