Up for auctions is the Authentic Original Theatrical 1 sheet of the James Bond 007 film DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER. Ill come with a GAU logo (the logo of the US printer's union).
Featuring a GAU logo does not definitely mean that a vintage poster is authentic as the GAU logo can also be reproduced in fake reprints. The absence of the GAU logo however is a clear indicator that a poster is not an original vintage movie poster. Also, the poster will usually display the NSS number.
Usually found in the bottom right-hand corner. This poster is authentic and has both. The poster is not without a few condition issues. There are pinholes in the corners and a few tears and separations in the folds have been repaired. Anything like this has been taped with LAMP approved Acid-Free Document tape. This was done to prevent further tearing.
In addition there is a little crinkling on the edges in a few places. The worst is that the poster is missing a small piece of the bottom right-hand corner. The image is strong with crisp colors. I did have this poster framed for awhile and it looked fantastic. With a white backing board behind it you did not even saw the small missing corner piece at the bottom.
But if you wanted this would look incredible if linen-backed. This was the last "official" James Bond movie starring Sean Connery.
The eye-popping art was done by Robert McGinnis and features the most alluring ladies to be found on any 007 poster ever produced. This is an original 1 sheet theatrical movie poster from the 1971 James Bond movie, Diamonds Are Forever. Measuring 27 x 41 inches, this poster features the iconic imagery associated with the Bond franchise. It was made in the United States and is a true collectible for fans of the series or movie memorabilia enthusiasts.
I have been a lifelong poster collector - Movie poster one-sheets, Foreign movie posters, Rock band and Artists posters, art posters - you name it and I've collected it. My walls have as much up as my wife will allow and I have finally come to grips with the fact I have to part with most of my collection rather than have it sit in storage.
